This historic venue, formerly a courthouse, is a popular wedding venue because of its Neoclassical architecture, with marble walls and large windows allowing generous natural light. It is gorgeous with or without decorations and offers so many spectacular photo opportunities. The ballroom, front, and back exterior staircases, as well as Decatur Square, are great locations for your formal and romantic portraits. Since it's located just east of downtown, it is a very convenient location within the metro Atlanta area. Being situated in Decatur Square, you'll have the opportunity for evening and nighttime portraits with nice city lights.
Also known as the Dekalb History Center, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The light-filled courthouse is a photographer's dream. During daytime ceremonies, the sun streams in through windows on both sides, providing a heavenly halo of light. At night, the marble walls provide a creative backdrop for reception photos. I'd drive across the country to photograph this venue, but it doesn't hurt that it's only 15 minutes from home.
I love beautiful floral displays, but you don't need them to dress up this venue. Less is more when it comes to decorating this venue, which could cut down on your floral & decor costs.
The Courtroom is the main area for the event and will be used for the wedding and reception. The room must be flipped, so cocktail hour usually happens in the downstairs lobby. I always recommend the couple recesses away from guests so formal portraits are quicker and smoother. The Harrison Room is the perfect staging area while guests go downstairs to the lobby.
